Reclaim Time & Space For Yourself

Reclaim Time & Space For Yourself

“I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.”

— Albert Einstein

Here’s a little secret: making time for yourself and reclaiming your space is not selfish. I used to believe the opposite—that being a good mother meant putting everyone else first and ignoring my own needs. But the truth is, neglecting yourself only made it harder to care for those you love. Over time, I realized that honoring my own needs actually lifted my family’s happiness too. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned—and give myself (and you!) permission to embrace self-care without guilt.

1.  Reclaim your Bedroom: Make it a Peaceful Place

It’s time to reclaim your bedroom—and feel absolutely no guilt about it! Your bedroom should be a place that sparks peace and joy in your heart. For years, I let my bedroom, closet, and bathroom fall to the bottom of my to-do list. I told myself I didn’t have the time or energy to create a space I truly loved.

Then it hit me: if I make time to care for the rest of my home, why not prioritize my bedroom and bathroom as priority number one? The shift was incredible. I went to bed in a peaceful, organized space, woke up feeling refreshed, and had more energy to handle whatever life threw at me.

Take a moment to consider your own space: How does it look? How is it organized? How does it make you feel? What can you do to turn your bedroom into a sanctuary that truly brings you joy? Once you create that peaceful spot, protect it and reclaim it whenever it starts to slip—you deserve a space that restores and energizes you every day.

2.  Prioritize Yourself, Everyone Benefits

When I make time for myself, I show up as a better version of me. Prioritizing self-care isn’t just for me—it’s an investment in everyone I love and interact with every day. No one else is going to carve out this time for you; you have to believe you’re worth it and just do it. It’s not selfish—it’s an act of love.

So, what fills your cup? A walk outside? Quiet reading time? Socializing with friends? Make it happen. If you’re a mom of little ones, it’s perfectly okay to go on a “date” with yourself sometimes—and I don’t just mean a solo grocery run! I mean truly setting aside time to catch your breath, do something you love, and simply be.

3.  Have things to look forward to.

Life is busy, and schedules can feel packed, but putting something on the calendar can do wonders for your mental well-being. Whether it’s a camping trip, a girls’ night, a retreat, or even a solo “date yourself” moment, having something to look forward to fills you with hope and excitement.

Even small things can make a difference. If mornings are tough, treat yourself to your favorite coffee or creamer. If afternoons or evenings feel long, give yourself permission to indulge in a Sugar Scrub or Bath Soak for a mini at-home spa experience. These little moments of joy and self-care remind you that your time and happiness matter too.

Reclaim your bedroom, carve out space for yourself & put something fun on your calendar! Cheering you on!
